Top options trader: Why is Coincall the exchange to watch during a bull market?
Why did I spend a lot of effort on CALL tokens in Coincall exchange in the past three months? What pain points does Coincall address in the market? What are the functionalities of the $CALL token? Can early players like us benefit from it?
This reflection is excerpted from professional options trader Sober Kun’s perspective, providing insights into Coincall’s prospects and strategy from a professional standpoint.

1. What is Coincall?
For users familiar with me, it should be clear that when Signalplus and Coincall jointly organized the second Options Academy, I delivered two sessions on options basics at Coincall. It was during this time that I started to use and get in touch with this cryptocurrency options exchange. After experiencing it for several months, I found that Coincall is playing the role of a market challenger. Why do I say this? I propose several pain points that Coincall addresses for everyone’s discussion:
1.1 The most comprehensive altcoin options exchange in the market
This statement should be very objective. In the past few years, players in the crypto options market could only trade BTC and ETH, and I didn’t even pay attention to altcoin fundamentals. However, Coincall currently offers options on altcoins such as SOL, DOGE, XRP, KAS, LTC, MATIC, LINK, TRX, FIL, BCH, and many more. Looking back, whether it’s the current bull market or historical crypto bull markets, high-quality altcoins always have the strongest potential for explosive growth. If we allocate our assets reasonably to spot or options trading on altcoins, we can maximize our odds. This makes our overall investment portfolio smoother in terms of investment comfort, and the overall assets will rotate and rise. Just like after the recent strong performance of DOGE and KAS, BCH is making a big splash.
I previously earned a 1,367% return on DOGE.
1.2 What is the biggest pain point that Coincall solves?
Options trading has always been a niche area in the cryptocurrency market, mainly due to the high learning curve and the poor liquidity of individual option prices caused by factors such as strike price and expiration time. However, Coincall’s emergence was indeed unexpected. The bid-ask spread for low-priced BTC options on Coincall can reach up to $15, which requires a significant amount of market-making resources to achieve. This demonstrates a high level of professionalism and sincerity.
In addition to the low bid-ask spread, we can also observe the market depth. In general, the depth of BTC is about 50, which is sufficient to meet the needs of medium and ordinary large traders. If you want to trade more than 100 BTC, you can directly engage in block trades. Coincall is prepared to accommodate traders of any size.
1.3 Prioritizing education and improving the ecosystem before expanding the market or spending money
When we initially negotiated the cooperation with Coincall, including our team at 4ce labs, we were all very surprised. It was the first time we heard that there were no KPIs or account opening assessments for cooperating with an exchange. They just hoped that we could provide some educational articles, focusing on reducing the learning curve of cryptocurrency options and achieving a vibrant options market similar to traditional financial markets.
Coincall originally aimed to make the market bigger first, so that everyone could better promote the ecosystem together. How many times have we seen internal conflicts within the crypto industry, resulting in us struggling within the same circle? Coincall’s approach indeed shows that even exchanges hope to see different landscapes.
1.4 What are the shortcomings of Coincall?
Coincall brings solutions to the crypto options world, but it is not perfect. On the contrary, there are still several issues that need to be resolved as soon as possible. If Coincall can overcome these issues quickly, it will rise to a new level, and I will have more reason to believe that Coincall will play a more significant role in this market.
Promptly provide a Portfolio Margin (PM) mechanism
The PM mechanism can effectively reduce the trading risk for investors, which is particularly important for professional options users. Additionally, PM can increase market liquidity, making trading more flexible and efficient. At the same time, this mechanism can attract more options users, especially those seeking stable trading.
Enhance a more robust trading system
Strengthening system stability and security can effectively reduce the risks caused by technical failures, making the entire trading process safer and more reliable. If Coincall intends to attract more users, they will need to put more effort into refining the product.
Disclose more information about fundraising and token unlocking with the release of the $CALL token
2. What is the value of the $CALL token?
With a total issuance of only 300 million tokens, the supply of $CALL is very restrained compared to other exchanges, and sophisticated players can make a comparison. Considering the initial circulating supply and token unlocking plan to be announced in the whitepaper, the valuation of the $CALL token will be very attractive.
2.1 What are the token’s use cases?
The token has multiple use cases, including regular exchange fee deductions and functions like Launchpool. However, what recently caught my attention is the follow-up plan for Coincall DEX. In terms of on-chain DEX options markets, unicorns similar to perpetual futures markets have emerged because the liquidity and risk control of options are difficult for ordinary DEX teams to solve. As a platform with rich options trading experience, Coincall will tap into this market potential. Coincall has chosen the most robust development in the Ethereum L2 and Solana chains, based on mature technology. Solana, with its high TPS and popularity, provides room for imagination in terms of high TVL for future DEX. Coincall’s DEX model is expected to be similar to DYDX and AEVO, which helps to solve many KYC issues, and it is expected to launch this year. Overall, the launch of DEX will provide more functionalities and value for the $CALL token.
2.2 Does the $CALL token have a buyback mechanism?
Yes, the $CALL token has a buyback mechanism. The contraction of the token’s supply is the most powerful guarantee for its future value. According to the information currently available, the platform will use 30% of its quarterly profits for $CALL buybacks and burn them, gradually reducing the total supply of 300 million $CALL tokens.
3. How should I handle the $CALL tokens I hold?
After the $CALL token is listed in mid-month, if the secondary market price is below $1, I will continue to accumulate. If the $CALL token price reaches $3-6, I will sell 20% of my holdings, and the remaining positions will be gradually sold according to the rhythm of the overall bull market, like throwing big cakes. However, I will retain 20% of the $CALL tokens overall and look forward to larger profits from the launch of DEX. I believe this selling strategy is relatively balanced between defense and offense, making it comfortable.
