CloudMile accelerates Web3 industry development through cloud technology services
During the 2023 Taipei Blockchain Week (TBW), Sangbi Korea interviewed two heavy-weight Web3 clients of CloudMile, Ray, co-founder of the gaming project Matr1x, and Lee Hyun, co-founder of the wallet service provider portto. They shared with us how they utilized CloudMile’s services to achieve business expansion and innovation.
portto is the developer of the well-known cryptocurrency wallet Blocto, and its biggest feature is the “Account Abstraction (AA)” feature, which allows users to bypass the complex process of “saving private keys or mnemonic phrases”. This significantly reduces the entry barrier for users to enter the Web3 field, making it easier for newcomers to enter the world of blockchain.
Matr1x, on the other hand, is a highly popular blockchain gaming project that aims to become a Web3 entertainment platform integrating gaming, esports, IP, NFT, and other elements. It recently announced the completion of a new round of financing (A2+ round) under the full investment of OKX Ventures. Currently, Matr1x’s flagship product is the shooting mobile game MATR1X FIRE, and its platform and NFT MATR1X KUKU are also in the process of being released.
Google Cloud – the powerful cloud foundation chosen by portto and Matr1x
When it comes to the cloud architecture of their products, Lee Hyun, co-founder of portto, stated that in order to enhance user experience and reduce the risk of users losing their private keys, Blocto defaults to the mechanism of “private key custody”, encrypting and storing users’ private keys on a cloud platform. As a top global public cloud provider, Google Cloud has complete developer tools, high-quality stability, key management service (KMS) that meets the requirements, and support for various digital signature algorithms, making it the natural choice for Blocto.
Ray, co-founder of Matr1x, mentioned that the most important factor they considered when choosing a cloud service was network latency. For a shooting game, game latency exceeding 100 milliseconds would affect user experience. Google Cloud is able to provide an ultimate gaming experience in multiple countries and regions worldwide. “When Taiwanese and Hong Kong players compete, the latency is only 20 milliseconds, which is very smooth for users. This is our top priority. We always put user experience first.”
Since Google Cloud has so many advantages, why do portto and Matr1x need to build a cloud environment based on Google Cloud through CloudMile?
In fact, Google Cloud is like a large construction materials market that provides various building materials and tools. Customers can directly purchase the cloud computing resources and services they need from this market, such as server space, database services, machine learning tools, etc. However, not all customers have the professional knowledge or resources to build and maintain their own “cloud architecture” (i.e., cloud infrastructure).
In this case, CloudMile is like a construction contractor. They not only understand all the materials and tools available in the market but also excel in designing and building complete structures. Customers can collaborate with CloudMile, who will use Google Cloud’s materials and tools to tailor, build, and maintain their cloud transformation projects.
In simple terms, Google Cloud provides the basic cloud infrastructure and platform, while CloudMile provides customized design, implementation, and management services based on these service foundations. When it comes to the benefits brought by CloudMile’s services, Lee Hyun, co-founder of portto, stated that CloudMile provides considerable technical support and advice in terms of “cloud system stability” and “cloud architecture upgrade and expansion”.
In addition, CloudMile is actively expanding the Web3 ecosystem. As a member of the ecosystem, Blocto has also gained many Web3 clients and partners through this ecosystem, providing an additional value offered by CloudMile.
Ray from Matr1x mentioned that CloudMile and Google Cloud provided excellent products and technical support when their budget was limited in the early stages. This support extends beyond the technical aspect, as CloudMile even facilitated more resource collaboration with Matr1x in terms of brand promotion and offline activities, leaving a deep impression on him.
In the digital economy wave, especially in the rapid development of blockchain and Web3 fields, CloudMile, as a Google Cloud certified managed service provider, plays a key role in technological innovation and services.
Through close collaboration with Google Cloud, CloudMile not only provides basic cloud computing services but also offers customized solutions to help clients like portto and Matr1x achieve business transformation and innovation. CloudMile’s services go beyond technical support and cover brand promotion, event sponsorship, and strengthening client connections and collaborations in the Web3 ecosystem. These additional values not only significantly enhance clients’ technical capabilities but also deepen their impression and trust in CloudMile’s services.
