Trump’s Major Campaign: If You Support Cryptocurrencies, It’s Best to Vote for Trump

Fox business reporter Eleanor Terrett retweeted a speech by U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump, in which Trump criticized Biden for not understanding cryptocurrencies, and that SEC Chair Gensler and the Democratic majority are opposed to cryptocurrencies. He boldly solicited votes, saying “If you support cryptocurrencies, you better vote for Trump!”

Fox business reporter Eleanor Terrett stated:
I think this is the first time Trump has openly acknowledged, or even publicly discussed “cryptocurrencies”, not just Bitcoin.

Trump has mentioned cryptocurrencies multiple times this year. In February, he referred to Bitcoin as “going its own way”, and while Bitcoin is very interesting, he still likes the dollar. In a CNBC interview in March, he said he was “very interested” in cryptocurrencies, that Bitcoin is another form of currency, and he sometimes accepts Bitcoin payments from others.

However, this time Trump is boldly and explicitly soliciting votes:
If you like cryptocurrencies, in all their forms, if you support cryptocurrencies, you better vote for Trump.
He also mocked Biden for not understanding cryptocurrencies at all, and that Gensler is opposed to cryptocurrencies, and the Democratic majority is opposed to cryptocurrencies.

Previous Chainnews has also summarized Trump’s attitude towards cryptocurrencies and their regulation during his previous administration, which was mostly cautious, and sometimes even critical. Is the shift in his rhetoric indicating a change in his views, or is it purely for the purpose of vote-soliciting?

However, Standard Chartered and VanEck have recently issued reports stating that if Trump is elected this year, it will have a positive impact on digital assets. They have also set year-end price targets for Bitcoin at $150,000 and $100,000 respectively.
