According to the Ministry of Justice’s announcement, due to the anonymity and convenience of virtual assets, they have gradually become tools for criminals to evade pursuit. Law enforcement agencies need to enhance their technological capabilities to counter crime.

Therefore, the Ministry of Justice commissioned the Taiwan High Prosecutors Office to establish the “Prosecutorial Seizure Virtual Asset Management Platform.” It officially went live on April 15th. In the future, virtual assets seized from defendants or suspects can be properly stored in a secure system, awaiting confiscation or return to victims after a definitive judgment, effectively depriving the defendants of their ill-gotten gains.
