Investigation on South Korean Legislators’ Holdings: Three-Year Purchase of $50 Million Worth of Cryptocurrencies Discrepancies Found in Ten Individuals’ Declarations
According to the comprehensive investigation results of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission of South Korea, South Korean lawmakers purchased a total of 62.5 billion Korean won (approximately $48 million) worth of cryptocurrency between May 30, 2020, and May 30 of this year. The value of the cryptocurrency sold was also equivalent to the amount purchased, reaching 63.1 billion Korean won (approximately $48.6 million).
