Taiwan’s Judicial Yuan warns of risks and scams of cryptocurrencies
Protecting oneself from cryptocurrency scams
Taiwan’s Judicial Yuan states that the anonymity and convenience of cryptocurrencies provide a breeding ground for scams and illegal transactions. Investment fraud and money laundering are the most common forms of crimes in the field of cryptocurrencies. Fraud groups spread false information through social media and dating apps, attracting users to invest and subsequently steal their assets. In order to combat these new types of technological crimes, the Taiwanese government has established specialized technology investigation centers nationwide and collaborated with virtual currency exchanges to enhance monitoring and tracking of illegal financial activities.
Faced with the risks of cryptocurrencies, Taiwan’s Judicial Yuan reminds the public to remain vigilant and carefully evaluate seemingly enticing investment opportunities. In the event of a fraud incident, one should immediately contact relevant departments for assistance. Through these measures, we can enjoy the convenience brought by cryptocurrencies while also protecting ourselves from potential financial fraud.
