Google Introduces ImageFX, a Generative AI Tool for Simplifying User Inputs with Keywords
Google recently launched a new image-generating AI tool called ImageFX, which allows users to quickly generate images using keywords. Additionally, they have optimized their AI tools MusicFX and TextFX for music and text generation. However, these three services are currently not available to the Taiwanese public.

Convenient Use of Google AI Tools
ImageFX is a new tool recently launched by Google that allows users to create images through simple text prompts, similar to using ChatGPT. ImageFX is supported by the Imagen 2 model, which is Google DeepMind’s text-to-image model. The team stated that its rendering technology can reduce the common strange shadows and combinations found in existing generative images, making the images more realistic.
Unlike ChatGPT, which requires multiple complete paragraphs of text prompts for more accurate description of needs, ImageFX uses expressive chips to enable users to describe images using keywords. It also provides keyword suggestions and replacement options, allowing users to generate and experiment with images more quickly.
MusicFX is an AI tool for text-to-music generation that was released last year. It allows users to create music tracks up to 70 seconds in length or looped music through simple text prompts.
Since its launch, global users have used the tool to create over 10 million tracks. Based on this feedback data, the team is improving the MusicLM model to achieve higher-quality audio and faster music generation.
All images generated using ImageFX and songs generated using MusicFX are marked with SynthID, which can be directly added as a digital watermark to the content. This allows other systems to detect and identify the content without affecting the content itself, ensuring copyright protection.
Furthermore, the team has enhanced TextFX, a copywriting tool developed in collaboration with Lupe Fiasco, to improve user experience and interface for writers and screenwriters.
One major commercial challenge of generative AI tools is that “users find it difficult to use.” The input of prompts requires expertise, as seen in the numerous AI tutorials available on the market. This creates a cognitive burden for many users and reduces their willingness to use the tools. Google aims to make AI usage easier, thus reaching a larger audience.
Taking ImageFX as an example, unlike ChatGPT, which requires full paragraphs of text input, or the image generation tool Midjourney, which has complex usage instructions, ImageFX allows users to generate images by simply inputting keywords, making the task more accessible.
