“ETH Taipei Hackathon Prize Surpasses 2 Million; Vitalik Shares Ethereum’s Blueprint after Cancun Upgrade”

ETHTaipei, the second Ethereum Developer Conference, will be held from March 21st to March 24th at the Nangang Bottle Cap Factory. It has invited numerous internationally renowned developers and teams to participate. Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin will also be present as the keynote speaker and panel guest, actively participating in the event and sharing the latest trends in blockchain. It is expected to attract over 1,000 participants.

The event will span four days, including two days of seminars and a 40-hour hackathon, providing Taiwan and international developers with the most direct opportunity for communication. The themes will revolve around Ethereum, ZK, DeFi, and Security, discussing the latest trends and developments. Topics such as Restaking ecology, applications and products of ZK (Zero Knowledge), and the potential collaborations between ZK and AI will be explored.

Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, will be the most anticipated guest at ETHTaipei. He will serve as the opening keynote speaker on the first day of the forum (3/21), sharing his vision and prospects for blockchain and Ethereum’s future.

Ethereum completed the “Dencun” upgrade today (March 13th), which will help improve the performance and scalability of the Ethereum network. Vitalik Buterin will share the long-term blueprint for Ethereum’s future, as well as his views on the development of the entire blockchain ecosystem. Additionally, he will participate in two panels and discussions with researchers and leaders in the L1 and L2 sectors, including co-founders and technical leaders from Optimism, Polygon, Zircuit, Metis, and more.

The hackathon, which starts on the evening of March 22nd, has accumulated a prize pool of over 2 million TWD, contributed by well-known domestic and international teams such as Consensys, Polygon, OP Labs, Mint Club, Ora, Zircuit, MACI, Ten Protocol, Dyson, Morpheus Labs, OpSec, ThunderCore, Scroll, Spacemesh, and others.

The hackathon will be conducted in a hybrid format, allowing anonymous online participation. On-site, there will be a 24-hour Hacker House and a variety of snacks and drinks provided, enabling developers to team up, discuss, and collaborate on programming to bring their ideas to life. Industry professionals will also be invited as hackathon mentors, allowing participants to engage in discussions with experts and rapidly improve their skills.

Several well-known blockchain industry companies will also have exhibition booths on-site for face-to-face communication and recruitment opportunities with developers. These companies include Polkadot, OKX, XY Finance, Harvest, Zomma, Teahouse Finance, Circle, imToken, Quantstamp, and others. AppWorks will also set up a booth to assist in talent recruitment for its ecosystem.

In addition, the “Digital Domain Employment Gold Card” project launched by the Digital Development Department will provide consultations on-site, aiming to attract more foreign digital talents to Taiwan and contribute to the development of the country’s digital economy. Nuvo will provide missions and on-site activities, enhancing the fun and engagement for attendees and hackers during the conference.

This event has also received enthusiastic support from many companies. BTSE Exchange has sponsored coffee, Taiwan Mobile has provided high-speed broadband network cables, Cooler Master has provided wireless network equipment, Shiyuan Salted Chicken has offered meal vouchers, and several bars, including PaperPlane, have joined together to provide exclusive treats for participants.
