With the continuous improvement of ChatGPT features, free users can access OpenAI’s flagship GPT-40 model, enhance responses through internet content, access GPT Store, and use uploaded files and photos to ask questions. Users can also save chat preferences as “memories” and utilize advanced data analysis to analyze data from documents such as spreadsheets and PDFs.
Of course, there are limitations to the free version, such as the daily capacity limit of the GPT-40 model. Once users reach this limit, they will automatically (albeit temporarily) switch to the less functional GPT-3.5 model.
ChatGPT Plus
The paid version used by regular users, ChatGPT Plus, has a monthly fee of $20.
ChatGPT Plus has 5 times the capacity of the free ChatGPT and allows for early access to updated tools, such as the OpenAI macOS client for ChatGPT.
Additionally, ChatGPT Plus subscribers can access upgraded data analysis features based on the GPT-40 model, allowing the creation of interactive charts and tables based on datasets. Users can directly upload files for analysis from Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive or their devices.
ChatGPT Team is suitable for small businesses or management organizations, allowing multiple ChatGPT licenses and collaboration features. The monthly cost per user is $30 (monthly) or $25 (annual) and can accommodate up to 149 users.
ChatGPT Team provides a dedicated workspace and management tools for team management. All users in the ChatGPT team plan can access the latest models from OpenAI and the aforementioned tools, allowing for ChatGPT analysis, document editing, and information extraction. Additionally, ChatGPT Team allows team members to build and share custom applications based on OpenAI models (similar to applications in the GPT store). These applications can be customized for specific use cases or departments, or adjusted based on team data.
ChatGPT Enterprise
Enterprises with over 149 users must choose ChatGPT Enterprise. OpenAI has not disclosed the pricing for ChatGPT Enterprise, but reports indicate a cost of approximately $60 per user per month, with a minimum of 150 users and a contract term of 12 months.
ChatGPT Enterprise adds “enterprise-level” privacy and data analysis features on top of regular ChatGPT, as well as enhanced performance and customization options. It includes a dedicated workspace and management console for tools to manage how employees within the organization use ChatGPT, including single sign-on, domain verification, and dashboard integration for usage and engagement statistics.
As part of ChatGPT Enterprise, shareable conversation templates allow users to create internal workflows and bots using ChatGPT, while OpenAI’s API platform allows companies to create fully customized solutions driven by ChatGPT as needed.
ChatGPT Enterprise customers also have priority access to OpenAI’s expertise models and product line, including dedicated customer teams and training. They are eligible to sign commercial agreements with OpenAI, a requirement under US law for companies wishing to use tools like ChatGPT to handle private health information.
This is a version of ChatGPT built for university students, faculty, researchers, and campus teams. Pricing is not disclosed.
ChatGPT Edu is similar to ChatGPT Enterprise, with the difference being that it supports SCIM, an open protocol for simplifying cloud identity and access management. OpenAI plans to introduce SCIM to ChatGPT Enterprise in the future. Like ChatGPT Enterprise, ChatGPT Edu customers can access data analysis tools, management controls, single sign-on, enhanced security, and the ability to build and share custom chatbots.
This solution provided by OpenAI for non-profit organizations offers a discount for eligible organizations.
Non-profit organizations can access ChatGPT Team at a price of $20 per user per month. Larger non-profit organizations can receive a 50% discount on ChatGPT Enterprise, equivalent to approximately $30 per user.
However, the eligibility requirements are quite strict. While non-profit organizations from around the world can apply, OpenAI currently does not accept applications from academic, medical, religious, or government institutions.
