Circle Partners with HKT to Implement Blockchain Wallet Solutions in Customer Loyalty Program

USDC issuer Circle recently announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hong Kong Telecom (HKT) on October 29th. The collaboration aims to leverage blockchain technology to create customer loyalty services and enhance interaction experiences with merchants.

Circle will provide Web3 service support and optimize the security of blockchain applications. This includes core features such as “programmable wallets” that allow merchants to easily integrate digital assets and smart contracts into existing applications, providing users with novel interactive experiences.
HKT will utilize its extensive merchant network in Hong Kong and its accumulated experience in promoting customer interaction and engagement to assist Circle in successfully implementing loyalty programs and introducing them into the Hong Kong merchant ecosystem.

Circle’s programmable wallet supports DeFi to e-commerce

Circle’s programmable wallet, through abstraction, bridges the complexities of private key security, blockchain node operations, transaction management, cross-chain interoperability, etc. This allows developers to integrate encrypted wallets into various applications and quickly utilize functionalities such as cryptocurrency and smart contracts. Additionally, it provides dedicated secure wallet settings for different application scenarios, such as DeFi, gaming, or e-commerce. The following are the highlighted features of Circle’s programmable wallet.

User-controlled wallet: Users can initiate transactions and have complete control over asset usage.

Developer-controlled wallet: Developers can manage assets on behalf of users, suitable for providing services such as loyalty points or cryptocurrencies.

REST API and SDK support: Provides diverse APIs and iOS/Android SDKs to facilitate developers in accelerating development and customizing wallet interfaces.

Real-time transaction updates (Webhooks): Notify transaction status in real-time to enhance user interaction experience.

MPC encryption protection: All wallets are built-in with MPC encryption technology, with infrastructure managed by Circle.

Cross-chain compatibility: Supports multiple blockchains such as Ethereum, Polygon, and Avalanche, with plans to support more chains in the future.

Flexible billing model: Charges based on the number of active wallets, with lower unit prices as usage grows, and provides feedback incentives for USDC usage.
