Can Taiwan effectively combat the typical crimes of “Telegram + Virtual Currency + Overseas Websites” and the challenges of “Creative Private Rooms”?
Recently, the Ministry of Health and Welfare has faced pressure from the public regarding the delayed action against the closed online platform “Creative Private Room” for child exploitation. Legislators have pointed out that, according to existing laws, the Ministry of Health and Welfare already has sufficient authority to remove or restrict harmful websites. However, the department’s actions seem to be hindered by implementation regulations. Today, Minister of Health and Welfare, Shueh Jui-yuan, has promised to take immediate action and has directly sent a message to the Ministry of Digital Development this afternoon requesting the closure of the website.
