Advantages and Challenges of Intention-driven Design: Related Infrastructure Still Has a Long Way to Go
The fragile foundation of expressing intentions:
When intentions align with users, surpassing protocols and blockchain technology, utility theory will theoretically be maximized. Ideally, users should be able to freely express their intentions across multiple applications and blockchain, and customize their preferences. However, the current infrastructure related to solvers cannot achieve the above vision. In fact, the more explicit the user’s intention expression, the more fragile the infrastructure becomes, as it requires highly integrated solvers. This increased complexity may lead to monopolies and MEV, resulting in even worse outcomes.
