In response to the pressure from the public regarding the delayed action on the closure of the child exploitation website “Creative Private Room,” the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) has been criticized. Legislators have pointed out that according to existing laws, MOHW already has sufficient authority to remove or restrict harmful websites, but the department’s action seems to be limited by the implementation rules. Today, Minister of Health and Welfare, Shih Ray-Yuan, promised to take immediate action and directly contacted the Ministry of Digital Development this afternoon to request the closure of the website.
