Renowned KOL Yueya Challenges Succinct Marketing: Accusations of False Marketing and Deceptive Tactics, Establishing a New Benchmark for Ethos Reputation Scoring
Yueya.eth: A Well-Known KOL Accuses Succinct’s Marketing Director of Deceit
Yueya.eth is a well-known KOL and the head of the Asia-Pacific community for a DeFi APP. Previously, he made negative comments about Crashout, the marketing director of Succinct, on ethos (a reputation scoring mechanism), stating, “There are issues with his character; everyone should be vigilant.” He also added, “He is a very manipulative marketing director who has deceived me twice.” Furthermore, he publicly challenged Crashout in the ethos community, threatening to escalate the situation.
Yueya: Succinct’s Marketing Director Deceives KOLs
Yueya stated on ethos, “The first time I encountered Succinct on Kaito, they asked me to vote and promised to give me a code (an invitation code for their invite-only system) afterward. I didn’t pay much attention and voted casually. However, they later claimed that I needed to vote again to receive the code, which felt very insincere. The second time was even more outrageous; they asked me to write an article collaborating with them, promising to provide me with a code and community resources. I diligently organized the content and sent it to him, only to have him outright deny the previous commitments.” He made it clear that it was no longer merely a communication issue but rather a matter of trust.
He added, “After I posted my negative review, they contacted me again on TG, saying that if I was willing to continue collaborating on community activities, the previously promised items would be fulfilled. However, to prevent more people from being deceived, I chose not to engage further and will not be swayed by empty promises again. I know I am not the only one facing similar situations; we already have several KOLs here who have been repeatedly manipulated and have witnessed promises made but not honored. I hope more people will not suffer in silence for the sake of a mere code.”

Succinct Accused of Using Deceptive Marketing Tactics
Following this, Yueya also expressed on Twitter that he believes SuccinctLabs has strong technology and the right product direction, but Crashout’s repeated contradictions have pushed him to his limits. Initially, when Succinct was a candidate on Kaito Connect, Crashout sought help from KOLs, including Yueya, to vote, promising to provide codes in return for their votes. After voting, however, Crashout demanded more votes before delivering the codes. Yueya followed the instructions and voted, but Crashout did not fulfill the agreement.
The second time, Crashout asked Yueya to write an article for him and introduce him to members of the ethos and DeFi App communities, promising to provide the members with codes. Yueya fully cooperated, only to be met with the response that there had been no previous commitments. The third time, multiple KOLs reported that the promised invitation codes had not been delivered. Subsequently, Yueya expressed in the group that he did not want to be treated like a beggar, being brushed off with invitation codes.
Additionally, Yueya mentioned that while Chinese KOLs strive hard for invitation codes, English users can simply ask, “may I get a code,” to receive one. Others have pointed out that screenshots circulating on Twitter showing Crashout giving out invitation codes feature 8-digit codes, while the actual invitation codes are 10 digits long. This seems to indicate that the leaked invitation code screenshots were merely a marketing tactic and that no actual codes were given out.
Many KOLs echoed Yueya’s statements, with on-chain experts pointing out that Crashout would collaborate with KOLs, only to raise the requirements after the KOLs completed their tasks, claiming that the invitation codes would be given upon meeting the conditions. However, he ultimately reneged on the previous promises.
