Cryptocurrency Exchange Founder CZ Launches Paid Messaging Platform Reachme.io

Recently, Zhao Changpeng (CZ), the founder of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance, officially launched the paid messaging platform Reachme.io, featuring a “Pay to Reach” model. Users can send private messages to KOLs using BNB, facilitating efficient communication. This platform is not only CZ’s efficiency experiment but may also become a key turning point for Web3 social interactions.

Reachme.io: One Payment, One Message

In a tweet today, CZ noted that he published an article on the concept of “Pay to Reach” a few weeks ago at Binance Square. Following discussions and designs with the development team, the product named “Reachme.io” officially went live yesterday, and he even updated his profile on X.

The official website of Reachme.io shows that the platform employs a simple yet innovative mechanism, requiring users to pay a certain amount of BNB to send private messages to specific recipients such as KOLs.

Taking CZ as an example, he initially set the message fee at 0.04 BNB (approximately $24), but due to an influx of meaningless messages, he gradually raised it to 1 BNB (approximately $630):

“After the product launch, I immediately received a large number of messages like ‘yo’, ‘how’s dinner’, ‘check out this meme coin’, ‘where’s the contract address?’ I truly cannot reply to each one. Please don’t waste your money like this. I will continue to adjust the price until I can limit the daily message volume to around 10 messages.”

He further added, “Most of the messages I receive are too short or are vague questions like ‘How to run a successful startup?’, which I really don’t know how to respond to.”

Focusing on Efficiency and Value: A Look at the Platform’s Features

Reachme.io emphasizes efficient and meaningful conversations. Currently, the platform only supports plain text messages, and recipients can flexibly set the message price. Once a message is paid for, a private chat window with the recipient will open, and each reply requires a new payment of the same amount. Messages are automatically merged and cannot retain paragraph spacing.

Additionally, the fee distribution mechanism is thoughtfully designed. The recipient receives 45% as basic income from each message, and if they reply, they can earn another 45%. Only 10% is retained by the platform. If the recipient does not reply, 50% is refunded to the sender. This design protects the questioner while encouraging replies.

At the end of the announcement, CZ also hopes users will refer to his “Communication Tips” published in 2019, encouraging every questioner to briefly introduce themselves and present their needs to enhance conversation quality and communication efficiency, while also reducing the burden on KOLs from handling lengthy messages.

Anti-Scam Reminder: No Token Issuance Plans

As part of the Binance ecosystem, Reachme.io fully integrates BNB as the payment medium. It is important to note that the platform has publicly stated that there are currently no token issuance plans, reminding users to be wary of scam messages.
