Teslas We Robot Press Conference Elon Musk Makes a Grand Entrance Riding the Cybercab

Tesla (stock code TSLA) was originally scheduled to hold the “We, Robot” event at 10 am Taiwan time on October 11th at the Warner Bros. Studios in Los Angeles. However, it was delayed for nearly an hour before officially starting. CEO Musk arrived at the venue in the Cybercab, an unmanned taxi, which made its debut at the event.

The Cybercab, which has no steering wheel or brakes, adopts automated unmanned driving. Priced at less than $30,000, Musk optimistically estimates that mass production can begin before 2027 and emphasizes its advantages:

Safety is 10 times higher than human driving.
It is like a moving mini lounge, making commuting time a golden opportunity to enjoy personal time.
The cost is approximately $0.2 per mile, including taxes and other fees, while Musk points out that the average cost for buses is $1 per mile.
It can charge and clean automatically.
During idle time, the vehicle can be used to generate passive income.

Tesla also unveiled the Robovan for the first time. This model can accommodate 20 passengers and has cargo transportation capabilities. Netizens agree that this vehicle is suitable for operating at airports.

Musk also announced Tesla’s grand blueprint. Next year, the unsupervised FSD (Full Self-Driving) autonomous driving function will be launched in Texas and California. By 2026, full autonomous driving will be promoted for Model 3 and Model Y. Musk optimistically believes that the Cybercab can be launched and mass-produced by 2027.

Musk also shared the latest developments of Tesla’s humanoid robot, Optimus. Many Optimus robots appeared on stage, performing lively dances and serving drinks as waiters, turning the entire press conference into a party.
