Is “Meme Coin” an “Advanced Trend You Can’t Keep Up With” or an “Intensification of the Idiocy in the Crypto World”? Recently, we wrote an opinion piece titled “The Stupid Evolution Theory | Meme Coin Has Become Mainstream, Replacing NFT as the Gateway for the Masses.” In recent times, there have been discussions within the crypto community expressing strong dislike for celebrities jumping on the meme coin bandwagon, but there are also differing opinions.

@ColdBloodShill: Just like celebrities and NFTs.
@blknoiz06: Celebrities are just being misled.

ColdBloodShill expresses discontent with the recent phenomenon of celebrities issuing meme coins. He believes that this behavior is predatory, with celebrities using the popular term “meme coin” to quickly make money, similar to the previous hype surrounding “cryptocurrency” and “NFTs.” He points out that celebrities who venture into the cryptocurrency realm usually fail, with most of these projects disappearing within a short period of time.

He believes that if celebrities genuinely want to enter this field, they should start by buying cryptocurrencies like regular people, explore the field, join the community, and learn and understand it before launching their own tokens. He emphasizes that celebrities who launch tokens right from the start should not be trusted, regardless of what they say. He hopes to see people who are genuinely interested in cryptocurrencies, rather than celebrities who only want to make quick money.

blknoiz06 has a different opinion from ColdBloodShill. He believes that it is unfair to generalize and blame celebrities who issue tokens. He points out that many celebrities are not the sole decision-makers and are often misled by their teams. These celebrities actually care about their fans.

He believes that it is better to engage in dialogue with these celebrities and make them understand the potential harm their actions may cause to their fans, rather than just telling them to go away. This way, it will be easier to find positive ways for them to participate in and contribute to this field.

Former President Trump strongly endorses cryptocurrencies, and meme coins bearing his name have skyrocketed. Prominent media personality Caitlyn Jenner issued the meme coin JENNER, and rapper Iggy Azalea joined the circle by issuing the meme coin MOTHER. These actions have further fueled the meme coin frenzy, similar to the early days of the NFT hype when numerous celebrities made recommendations.

It is believed that in the near future, there may also be Asian celebrities or KOLs issuing their own meme coins to catch up with this trend. Whether this is good or bad remains to be seen and proven over time.
