“BitcoinShrooms” Debuts at Sotheby’s
NFT project “BitcoinShrooms” based on the Bitcoin Ordinals protocol will be auctioned at Sotheby’s online auction, with 3 pieces available for bidding on Sothebys.com, ending on December 13th.
“BitcoinShrooms” was designed by artist Shroomtoshi. Sotheby’s valuation before the start of the auction was estimated to be between $20,000 and $30,000, but the bidding price by Sovereign Individual has skyrocketed to nearly $50,000.
Sotheby’s Digital Art Sales Director Michael Bouhanna announced this yesterday.
Sotheby’s emphasizes that the design of “BitcoinShrooms” portrays the exquisite and interesting side of the Bitcoin revolution. The three auctioned pieces are as follows:
S
S has received 45 bids, and the bidding price has reached $38,000, with “S” representing self-sovereignty.
Sovereign Individual
Currently, the highest bid is $48,000, inspired by Rees Mogg’s 1998 book “The Sovereign Individual”, which predicted the emergence of cryptographic digital currency to avoid government control.
BIP39 Seed
Self-sovereignty means controlling one’s own Bitcoin private key, hence the name directly derived from the Bitcoin private key seed phrase.
Currently, the lowest bid is $24,000, with a total of 31 bidders.
