Apple Announces “Made in America” Initiative; Standard Chartered Claims Ethereum-Backed Companies Are More Worthwhile Investments Than ETFs
Apple Announces “Made in America” Plan
Apple has announced a $100 billion investment in U.S. domestic manufacturing, leading to a 5% rise in Apple’s stock price, which in turn boosted the stock market on Wednesday. The cryptocurrency market rebounded, rising 1.34% in the past 24 hours, with Bitcoin (BTC) returning to $115K and Ethereum (ETH) nearing $3,700. Ethereum reserve companies continue to increase their ETH holdings, surpassing the total net asset value of the U.S. Ethereum spot ETFs at $20 billion. Standard Chartered states that Ethereum reserve companies are more worthwhile investments than ETFs.
Apple Announces $100 Billion U.S. Manufacturing Plan
Apple CEO Tim Cook and President Trump announced on Wednesday that the iPhone manufacturer will invest an additional $100 billion in U.S. companies and suppliers over the next four years. This investment is expected to encourage overseas companies to purchase more American-made components. Previously, Apple announced a $500 billion investment in February.
Trump stated that this is Apple’s largest investment in the U.S. and elsewhere to date, and he hopes that new factories will be built in the U.S. within a year.
On Wednesday, Apple announced the “Made in America” plan, with partners including Corning, Coherent, GlobalFoundries, Applied Materials, Texas Instruments, Samsung, GF, Amkor, and Broadcom.
Apple (AAPL) stock rose by 5.09%, marking the largest single-day gain in nearly three months, which also contributed to the rise in the U.S. stock market.
Cryptocurrency Market Rebounds; Standard Chartered Claims Ethereum Reserve Companies are a Better Investment
The cryptocurrency market rebounded, with a 1.34% increase in the past 24 hours, Bitcoin (BTC) returning to $115K and Ethereum (ETH) nearing $3,700. Ethereum reserve companies continue to accumulate ETH, with publicly listed companies like SharpLinkGaming and BitMine currently holding 5.73 million ETH, valued at $21.1 billion, surpassing the total net asset value of the U.S. Ethereum spot ETFs at $20 billion.
Standard Chartered stated that Ethereum reserve companies are currently very valuable investments, superior to U.S. spot ETH ETFs, as they offer better opportunities for Ethereum price appreciation, staking rewards, and growth in ETH per share. Presently, their mNAV (market NAV, the ratio of current stock price to the value of their owned ETH) is slightly above 1, and these companies are providing regulatory arbitrage opportunities for investors.
