In Essonne, France, a TikTok financial influencer with over 40,000 fans was recently kidnapped by four individuals while on his way home. The incident has shocked the local community, as the kidnappers not only used violence but also attempted to extort up to 50,000 euros in cryptocurrency. The police have intervened, and the case is being handled by the Organized Crime Investigation Department.
Kidnapping Occurred on the Way Home: Four Individuals Forced Victim into a Car
According to a report from Europe 1, the incident took place between Friday night and Saturday morning in Juvisy-sur-Orge, a suburb south of Paris. The 26-year-old victim, a cryptocurrency influencer with approximately 40,000 followers on TikTok, was preparing to return home when he was forcibly pushed into a stolen Renault Clio by four strangers.
Cryptocurrency Becomes Extortion Target: Kidnappers Demand Fifty Thousand Euros
According to preliminary police investigations, the victim was not only beaten but also had the kidnappers demanding that he hand over 50,000 euros in cryptocurrency. The four individuals forced him to log into his cryptocurrency account to check his balance, only to find that the account was severely lacking in funds. They ultimately abandoned the extortion attempt and released the victim.
Released and Seeking Medical Attention: Victim Granted Six Days of Medical Leave
Despite not being extorted successfully, the kidnapping incident left the victim with both physical and psychological trauma. He has currently been granted a six-day “total work stoppage” (ITT) certificate for rest and treatment. The case has been taken over by the Organized and Professional Crime Investigation Department of the French police. Given the violent nature of the crime, kidnapping, and cryptocurrency extortion involved, authorities are treating it as a serious offense and are conducting a thorough investigation into the identities and motives of the kidnappers.
